Why TCM for Sports Injuries?

In TCM, injuries cause local blood stasis (瘀血) — blood that becomes stuck and impedes healing. TCM treatments actively move this stagnant blood, reduce inflammation, and restore proper circulation to accelerate tissue repair.

Unlike passive rest alone, TCM treatments actively promote healing. Studies show acupuncture can reduce recovery time by 30-50% for many soft tissue injuries.

Treatment Modalities

Acupuncture: Reduces pain and inflammation, stimulates natural healing factors, and can be applied even during acute phase.

Cupping: Increases blood flow to injured area, breaks up adhesions, speeds tissue repair.

Herbal Liniments: Topical formulas like Dit Da Jow reduce swelling and promote healing when applied externally.

Herbal Medicine: Internal formulas to move blood, reduce inflammation, and strengthen tendons and ligaments.

Your Recovery Journey

1

Acute Phase (Days 1-3)

Acupuncture to reduce swelling and pain. Herbal poultices may be applied. Light treatment approach.

2

Subacute Phase (Days 4-14)

More intensive treatment with cupping, Gua Sha. Focus shifts to moving blood stasis and promoting tissue repair.

3

Remodeling Phase (Weeks 2-6)

Continue treatments while gradually returning to activity. Strengthening and preventing re-injury.

4

Return to Sport

Final treatments to ensure full recovery. May include maintenance sessions for ongoing performance support.
